Vincent Langer dominated Slalom Elimination
Posted On:  29/05/2014 12:06:38

The first day of the Rollei Summer Opening presented by Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge brought perfect conditions for the discipline slalom. Up to seven Bft and four slalom eliminations are the result of the first regatta day. Vincent Langer (GER-1, RRD, Point-7) dominated all races and leads consequently in the overall ranking.

Seven Bft and offshore conditions welcomed the competitors at the Rollei Sumer Opening presented by Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge on Sylt. The first Slalom was a full-fleet downwind slalom with a gate start. Vincent Langer finished the first race followed by Dennis Mueller (GER-89, F2, Gun) from Norderney, Sebastian Kornum (DEN-24, JP, NeilPryde) from Denmark, Christian Justesen (DEN-26, RRD, Point-7) and Helge Wilkens (GER-63, Starboard, Severne).

Because of the perfect and constant conditions, the race director chose the back to back system, so the next full-fleet Slalom started a few minutes later. Vincent Langer was in the lead again and passed the finish line in front of Gunnar Asmussen (GER-88, Patrik, North) and Oliver-Tom Schliemann (GER-1001, Exocet, Point-7).

The third Slalom was a half-fleet slalom. Winner again was Vincent Langer, followed by Sebastian Kornum and Christian Justesen in second and third position.

The fourth and last race of the day was again a full-fleet slalom. Winner of the day, Vincent Langer, finished in the lead. Second place went to Gunnar Asmussen and third place to Christian Justesen.

After four slalom eliminations Vincent Langer is leading in the overall ranking.  Places 2 to 4 go to Sebastian Kornum, Gunnar Asmussen and Christian Justesen. Top-5 are completed by Oliver Tom Schliemann.

The weather forecast for the second event day looks perfect, so we hope to perform some Formula races. The Skippers meeting will take place at 9 am, so the first possible start will be at 09:45 am.

Besides the windsurf regatta some races of the German Sup Challenge will start tomorrow. Every interested guest can test the trendsport or register for the official race on Saturday. The big general programm (kids camp, catering, shopping and lounge) opens at 10am.
