2012 Ergo Hestia RS:One European Championship
21st to 24th July 2012
Sopot, Poland

The first RS:One European Championships concluded last Tuesday in Sopot, Poland.

Courses were set inside the Sopot Bay in the Baltic sea, just meters from the beach, providing a unique spectator experience and allowing for some exciting close-quarter competition on the water.

Racing in two divisions, male and female, the event comprised of 10 qualification races and one fiercely contested final held in extremely challenging conditions with fluctuating winds of between 4 to 11 knots.

The RS:One class races are either a "Pulsar course" (reaching start following by a slalom and then an upwind to finish on a reach) or a long distance course. The final includes the top 3 of each division and is the only race that counts for the podium ranking.

Results:

Female:
1- Natalia Wojcik, Poland
2- Klaudia Mankucka, Poland
3- Karolina Zajaczkowska, Poland

Male:
1- Marcin Urbanowicz, Poland
2- Lukasz Buderaski, Poland
3- Robert Pellowski, Poland
