2) WINDSURFING IN THE OLYMPICS

3) ARISTEIA COMMUNICATION’S STUDY – Main messages
Windsurfing requires all stakeholders to work together
Through a strong central administration
To identify strong flag carrier
To establish a clear-cut positioning
To develop & implement a global communications strategy
To bring new participants into the sport
To implement an effective marketing concept for the Olympic format
To generate more media coverage

4) ISAF EVALUATION TRIALS
Rich Jeffries (USA – Chairman of e-team)

There are 10 racers on the e-team (5 men/5women)

Women from HKG, ITA, JPN, NOR & POL

The e-team
Is keen to identify the very best format for 2008
And currently has an open mind as to what that might be
Would like to involve the maximum number of shapers & brands in the process
Will make a recommendation to the 2003 ISAF Conference (November)
The IWA White Paper is a useful guideline
A representative from each team submitting a board for evaluation should be at the trials
Will probably stage only one trials event (July in France?)
Trials criteria and conditions to be published by March 1st 2003
