We are delighted to announce that the Techno 293 PLUS has been selected as the official one design equipment for the windsurfing event in the forthcoming 2020 World Sailing Youth World Championships, the major World Sailing event of the year for youth windsurfers. The Techno 293 PLUS board and its 8.5 m² rig replaces the RSX and a three years deal has been signed with World Sailing guaranteeing "charter" boards for all the competitors coming from 60+ countries to the World Championships through to 2022.

This is a defining moment for the Techno 293 OD PLUS, it will energize and encourage young Under 19 riders sailing this board everywhere in the world. This beefed-up version of the Techno 293 OD (with its 50cm fin and 8.5 m² of sail) has been a WS International Class for 3 years now and was the official one design equipment at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. This latest attribution, for such an important international event, shows how confident World Sailing is in the ability of Tahe Outdoors to deliver, as much in the quality of the products, as in the level of service and logistical know-how.

The 2020 edition will be held in Salvador, Brazil, from the 12th to 18th December. It will be World Sailing's 50th birthday party, and more than 400 competitors from over 60 countries will be there to race for the medals. All classes are open to anyone over the age of 12 and under 19 on December 31st 2020. About Youth Sailing World Championships
The Youth Sailing World Championship was first held in Angelholm, Sweden in 1971 where 16 nations competed for the inaugural titles in the two-person dinghies. As the regatta evolved further classes were added to bring the best young sailing talent across the world together in one place and in 1984 the windsurfer was added to the list of events. It has now become the biggest event on the youth sailing calendar.
Among the previous winners of this event, there are many eventual America's Cup skippers, Olympic medal winners, and veterans of the Volvo Ocean Race.
