Freestyle on the Bic Techno 293?
Posted On:  13/12/2018 09:21:27

"It would be great for kids to develop some freestyle skills, just like the good old days, plus it's fun," says Pierre Coupal. "Freestyle tricks are possible on the Bic Techno 293 and it helps to develop good board control."

Here is a video of Pierre on a "resort board" out in the Caribbean. "Railriding a very rocky Bic Techno with little wind, it was never gonna be a dry proposition. Fun to do though."

Here's a great article by Peter Hart. "Light wind freestyle is a ballet. It's about agility and movement, wind awareness and controlling the rig from the most eccentric positions - all essential skills in every branch of windsurfing." Harty gives you a rundown of tricks ancient and modern, describes just what they take and where to start.

Who would like to see a bit of freestyle fun? If there is interest, maybe tutorials, ultimately some exhibitions/demonstrations at events … maybe a whole new techno freestyle discipline with Bic support providing sails/rigs suitable for techno freestyle?
