The Wind, The Sun and The General Recall
Posted On:  26/07/2017 10:01:09

Tides and current didn't make racing easy for the fleets in Lorient with numerous general recalls starting off the day. The sailors learnt a lot about current during those first starts and as the day progressed the races started without delay.

Eda Yavuz from Turkey, who won her first race of a major championship yesterday made that point after racing saying that although the races were average for her she has learnt a lot while in Lorient. "I feel more comfortable in windy conditions and I'm looking forward to tomorrow. The weather is perfect, the place is so nice and we've got the ocean. It's great," she added.

Eda is third in the Youth Girl fleet with Maya Ashkenazi and Linoy Geva from Israel in first and second.

Fabien Pianazza finished so far 1st, 1st on the first day and 2nd, 2nd on the second, but tomorrow Fabien plans to get back to the top of the fleet as the wind is forecast to be stronger than today. "I'm too big for light wind conditions," he says "and I'm looking forward to tomorrow but, considering the conditions, today's results are good." Yun Pouliquen from France and Tomer Vardimon from Israel are in first and second.

In the Junior Boy fleet it is also Israel and France leading - Daniel Basik Tashtash in first, Gaspard Carfantan in second and Sebastien Buquet in third. In the Junior Girl however we have Russia's Yana Reznikova leading followed by two girls from Israel Sharon Kantor and Daniela Peleg.
