Praia Do Forte, Bahia, the host venue for the 2014 RS:One South American Championships, is ready to welcome sailors to its shores for this year's continental event.

With typical conditions - side shore winds of 6 to 25 knots; water temperature 28oC; air temperature 26 to 32oC - competitors can expect a "warm" welcome!......( more )

The 2014 Formula Experience Worlds will open on 19th November with registration and equipment inspection before the Opening Ceremony in the evening.  The good news is, although the pre-entry deadline has now passed, the time to claim your 30 eur pre-entry discount has been extended......( more )

For the first time Indonesia will host an ISAF windsurfing class world championships when the RS:One World Championships hit the shores of Bintan on the Riau Islands of Indonesia, from 15th to 20th December

Trikora Beach will be the host venue for event which will be organised by the Indonesian Sailing Federation in co-operation with Trikora Beach Club and NeilPryde Ltd.......( more )

The Federation Algerienne de Voile (FAV) will host its first windsurfing African Championships from 28th December to 4th January in Bejaia.

The event will include 2014 African titles in 3 classes - Raceboard, RS:X and Techno 293.......( more )

Being surrounded by the sea, Hong Kong is in fact a wonderful place for enjoying watersports. Windsurfing is one of the sports seeking dramatic growth in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Open Windsurfing Championships was first introduced in 1983, it is the biggest windsurfing competition in Hong Kong, attracting competitors from all over the world every year. This is certainly one of the most prestigious windsurfing competitions in the Asian region.

It will take place from 25th November to 1st December and all Techno 293 OD age categories will race in this event.  For more infomation, click here

As if to reaffirm Mistral's intent to rise like the phoenix from the ashes of Windsurfing, a sport once nothing short of a phenomenon, which at its peak, even over shadowed the popularity of today's fastest growing water sport of Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP), the iconic brand has returned home, to once again be under the control of Mistral's affiliate, Mistral Red Dot.......( more )

After more than 17 years with the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Jerome has decided to pursue other professional challenges.  ISAF and Jerome have enjoyed a very fruitful relationship. Jerome has had the foresight and leadership to steer ISAF through the many challenges he has encountered during his long service at ISAF. ......( more )

Slalom is one of the most spectacular and powerful windsurfing disciplines. The short races of 3 to 5 minutes can be raced in compact areas close to the spectators. The races are high speed with short legs and close mark roundings. The format is elimination which also requires an efficient Race Committee.  At some events 40 starts a day are no exception!......( more )

On 5th November, it was the Amateur competitors' turn to shine at Ho'okipa Beach Park as Glenn Haslbeck takes the Amateur Severne Starboard Aloha Classic title, and Dan Thomson secures the AWT 2014 Tour win.......( more )

We have a new Kona World Champion. US sailor, 17 year-old Rasmus Sayre from the Island of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts on the US East Coast won the championship in big style on Wednesday after taking an impressive six bullets out of twelve races. ......( more )

Wind or no-wind. The forecasted light South wind left us hoping for a local effect that would make it stronger and make a freestyle competition possible, yet it didn't fill in which left organisers, crew and riders disappointed after all. ......( more )

The 2014 Chris Benz Luderitz World Record Chase Event had 9 days of racing with a variety of conditions and suitable for different levels. Riders have experienced much more and quickly identified what equipment to change to go faster in less wind - a threshold has now been crossed. ......( more )

With standings so tight at the beginning of the day, all eyes were on the medal races today at the 2014 RS:X Youth World Championships in Clearwater, Florida!  Saturday on Clearwater Beach is always a busy day, and the combination of bright sunshine, strong breeze and world-class windsurfing action brought upwards of 20,000 people to the beach for the conclusion of the event.......( more )

The 12 event 2014 European Cup series concluded last weekend in Loutsa Bay, Attica, near Athens. Latvian formula specialist Janis Preiss took the first place on the podium with another conclusive win and with it the title of European Cup Champion 2014.......( more )

Drama and excitement prevailed over the final two days of the Raceboard World Championships in Blanes.  Ivan Pastor (ESP-7), dominating the final series of races by taking the bullet each time ahead of defending champion, Maksymillian Wojcik (POL-7), was forced to retire from the third race of the penultimate day with a broken boom.  ......( more )

There was double French gold in the RS:X fleets at the Santander 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships as Julien Bontemps claimed the men's title and Charline Picon picked up the women's.  Picon had sealed Women's RS:X gold overnight whilst Bontemps had a comfortable lead in the men's and needed a solid race to seal the deal.......( more )
