NA Class Association Fees
 
Renewal invoices will be circulated by e-mail very soon so please make sure we have your up-to-date national association contact details.  It is a requirement, as specified in each Notice of Race for IWA Sanctioned Events: "Competitors shall be members of a National Class Association which is a paid up member of the relevant international class association."
Membership gives:
 
     * Each affiliated NA one vote at the Class AGM, plus one vote (per class) at the IWA AGM
     * Listing on the IWA website with a webpage
     * National Championship Events, open to foreign competitors, added to the relevant Class and IWA calendars
     * and more . . . 

The number of National Associations joining the IWA continues to grow.  Thank you for your continued support of the IWA and its member classes,  Help us to grow the sport by ensuring your national association joins the IWA.

Phantom 295 Class joins IWA

IWA is pleased to welcome the Phantom 295 Class to the IWA windsurfing family.  Devoted to easy, accessible – but high performance racing – Phantom is a step up class from other Youth or Entry level classes, supported by Starboard International.  Visit the Class Website here

COMING UP IN 2014!!!

The location for the 2014 Downunder Pro Formula Windsurfing Championships from 9-12 January is back on Botany Bay in Sydney. 2014 Techno 293 European Championships

For the first time the Circolo Surf Torbole will host the Techno 293 European Championship from the 20th to the 27th of April 2014 (the week just after Easter). . . . ( more )

Praia da Vitoria, on the beautiful island of Terceira, in the Azores, will host two major world championships in 2014.  The Formula Windsurfing Worlds, 28th April to 3rd May, will be followed by the IFCA Slalom Worlds, 5th to 10th May.......( more )

We're hoping to see large women's fleets for both the FW and IFCA Worlds.  The venue is recommended as "Woman Friendly"!

Check out the confirmed calendar for the 2014 Formula Windsurfing European Cup series.  With some regular venues and new additions next year looks to be another exciting year for European formula racers.  It is hoped that one or two late additions can be made to the tour calendar.......( more )

ISAF Publish Change To The Racing Rules of Sailing

The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) has published an urgent change to rule B3.31 of the Racing Rules of Sailing. The change will be effective from 1 January 2014.  The urgent rule change was authorized during the ISAF Annual Conference in Oman as permitted by ISAF Regulation 28.1.2.

ISAF Council voted that all ten Rio 2016 Olympic Events and Equipment shall be included in the 2020 Olympic Sailing Competition. Additional medals shall be sought from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for Tokyo 2020 and if additional medals are allocated, kiteboarding events will be selected first.  ......( more )

Ngwe Saung Beach, Ayeyarwaddy Division, Myanmar, was the venue for the 2013 South East Asian Games Regatta. The regatta was organised by the Myanmar Yachting Federation with the co-operation of Myanmar Olympic Committee and the ISAF.......( more )

The hot weather and light winds made racing conditions difficult over the final two days of competition at the South American Championships hosted at the Peru Beach centre in San Isidro, Buenos Aries.......( more )

The 2013 Phuket King's Cup Regatta began on December 1st with an official opening ceremony and a couple of races for the mono-hulls, multi-hulls, keel-boats and dinghies. But then it was time for the Phantom 295 to take centre stage! Navin Singsart grabbed a very deserved overall win with five 1st places and two 2nd places. Read the full report on Starboard.com

2013 has been another great and intense year for the RS:One Class as its continues its global growth.  The NeilPryde Racing Series in collaboration with the Extreme Sailing Series brought together eight great venues while the first Asian championships hosted at the Singapore Open saw the RS:One class becoming the biggest class of the event.......( more )

Racing at the 2013 Asian Windsurfing Championships has concluded. The whole team at Hong Kong Windsurfing has done a great job in hosting a very successful event and everyone is looking forward to the prize presentation ceremony.  ......( more )

 

Sebastien Cattelan and Sophie Routaboul the 2 organizers of this amazing records factory in Luderitz delivered the 2013 edition: Chris Benz World Record Race had 18 different nationalities competing and produced better performances in lighter wind conditions. ......( more )

Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG-3) is crowned 2013 Formula Experience World Champion having finished the way he started, at the top of the overall leaderboard.  The 2012 Champion, Brazilian hotshot Paulo dos Reis, finished the championship two points behind and had to settle for second place on the podium.  The third place was taken by Pablo Ania Barrachina (ESP-16).   ......( more )
