It's official - the 2016 Dunkerbeck GPS Speed Challenge will crown Speed Sailing World Champions, from June 1st-5th, in Fuerteventura's Matas Blancas, Canary Islands.  The event designed by Bjorn Dunkerbeck will simultaneously host the 2016 ISWC World Championship and, as a result, the competition will crown world champions in two divisions - Men and Women. Youth and Junior sailors will also receive awards for their performances. Read more . . .

Soma Bay is a coastal resort on the Red Sea in Egypt, 45 km south of Hurghada International Airport. The self-contained community of Soma Bay is a peninsula surrounded on all sides by the sea. About 5 km in length and 2 km wide, the peninsula is accessed via a 7 km private road through a single controlled entry gate.......( more )

Kizezers Lake, in Riga, Latvia, is the host venue for the 2016 Raceboard Masters World Championship,  Scheduled to take place from 31st May to 4th June.. Brac is situated between islands Solta and Hvar and it’s the biggest middle Dalmatian island with 395 km2 of space. Liepaja, "City where wind is born", will once again host a Formula European Championships.  The 2016 championship will form the centrepiece of the Liepaja European Cup Windsurfing Festival which will take place from 8th to 13th August.  The venue will be Monument Beach and is organised by Janis Jekabsons and his Windsurfing Club Rietumkrasts.......( more )

The RS:One Class, in partnership with the Chinese Taipei Sailing Association and the Windsurfing Club Guan YIn Ting, will hold the 2016 RS:One World Championships from the 26 September to the 1st October in Penghu, Taiwan.......( more )

The CST organizational machine has been set in motion well in advance to ensure over 500 athletes from around the world enjoy the best competition possible. Check out coverage of the 2014 European Championships held at this very venue. WORLD SAILING

Sailing is in for thrills and spills at the 2018 Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games with sailors to compete across five of the fastest classes around.

The Men's and Women's Windsurfer, Techno 293+, remains on the YOG programme with the introduction of Men's and Women's Kiteboarding, IKA Twin Tip Racing, and the Nacra 15 Mixed Multihull.......( more )

Before any sailor's dream of competing in the Olympics can be fulfilled, their country must first be deemed sufficiently competitive. With the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro nearly upon us, that process of country qualification for the ten sailing events is now complete.

The process began at the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships in Santander, Spain, with the qualification system taking sailors around the world for two years, with the final event held at the Trofeo S.A.R Princesa Sofia IBEROSTAR in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, thus closing out the qualifying country list for the Rio summer bonanza and the Olympic sailing competition.......( more )

COMPETITION HIGHLIGHTS

Founded in 2005, the Top of the Gulf Regatta Presented by Ocean Marina is the region's largest and most diverse regatta of its kind with keelboats and multihull classes racing over four days (1st to 4th May) and the dinghies, Thailand Optimist National Championships and RS:One Asian Championship racing over three days.

The championship, open to all, allowed international racers to compete through innovative race formats. RS:One is a multi generational, one-design windsurfing board featuring an easy and light performing 7.8 rig. Espoirs (youth under 22 years old), Seniors (under 40 year old) and Masters (older than 40), men and women, can race together on the same starting line in a collective fleet.......( more )

A smooth start on the final competition day with a poor predicted forecast, creating another relaxing vibe on the beach. But… then it all changed as the wind shifted offshore and slowly started to increase as the day was heated up by the superb clear sunny skies.....[more]
