Argentina's Francisco Saubidet Birkner and China's Linli Wu claimed the Boy's and Girl's Techno 293 honours as sailing concluded at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games in China.

A single undiscardable race brought the Techno 293 racing to a close with the conditions testing the 20 boy's and 21 girl's racers who took to the course. Three knots gusting up to eight knots from an easterly direction made life tough on the race course with those with excellent tactical nous and light wind prowess excelling........( more )

Registration has begun at the Zoo Station.  Competitors from 18 countries pre-registered with the largest contingents being from Italy, France and the home team Croatia.  The age range is from 59 down to just 12 years old and we have 6 so far in the women's fleet.

The Formula Windsurfing European Championship will take place in Viganj, the same venue that hosted a fantastic Worlds in 2013.

Competition runs from 2nd to 7th September - and you can follow the action on the FW Class Website. The event is also a leg of the 2014 European Cup Series.

Twice Raceboard World Champion, Max Wojcik POL-7, is hoping to retain his title for the third year running at the Raceboard World Championships taking place at Club Vela Blanes next month.  He thrashed the competition in the Czech Republic last year ending the competition with a perfect score - a repeat performance of his win in Finland in 2012.

As you probably know, the new location of the 2014 RS:X Youth World Windsurfing Championship is at Clearwater, Florida, USA.  Clearwater Community Sailing Center will host for the event, which will be held from 18th to 25th October 2014. ......( more )

The International Funboard Class Association (IFCA) and the Germany based event agency Choppy Water GmbH have agreed on a co-operation to promote a new continental windsurfing platform. From 2015 onwards the Windsurfing Euro-Cup will be the official regatta series leading to the IFCA European Slalom Men and Women Championship title. ......( more )

15 year old Carlo Ciabatti from Cagliari, Italy, is the 2014 Techno 293 Youth Boys World Champion.  With an unassuming start, 23rd on the leaderboard at the end of the first race, Carlo clawed his way up day by day - 13th . . . 5th . . .1st! beating European Champion Tom Monnet into second place by 4 points.  Tom was second Junior Boy at the 2013 World Championships so is on good form, and had a brief spell at the top of the leaderboard after the second day of racing.  Last year's u15 Champion Israeli Yoav Cohen has maintained a place on the podium right through, testing the top spot at the end of day three, but finally had to settle for third place at the end of the championship.

15 year old Lucie Pianazza, 2014 Techno 293 Youth Girls World Champion, took the first 7 bullets of the championship.  An emphatic win with less than half the points of her nearest rival, Israeli Katy Spychakov who, like Tom, was second in the junior fleet at the 2013 Worlds.  She was 13th at the Europeans on Lake Garda so should be well pleased with her performance in Brest as she managed to displace Russian Mariam Sekhposyan who had occupied the second place on the leaderboard until the final day of racing.

Dennis Littel was the first windsurfer to come running up the beach to 'tap-in' at Paal 17, Texel. After several previous attempts, Littel finally managed to be the first to make it around. In doing so, Littel wins the Dutch Championship Marathon Surfing. The participants and the organization were treated to plenty of sun and a south-westerly wind decreasing from 12-8 knots. In total, 34 of the best windsurfers took part in windsurfing's return to the Round, with thousands of spectators lining the course.......( more )

At the end of five days of a great championship with 15 competition races, Janis Preiss (LAT-23) is declared the 2014 Formula Windsurfing Masters World Champion and also the 2014 Gallipoli Formula European Cup Champion.  Karl-Erik Saarm (EST-228) is 2014 Formula Windsurfing Youth World Champion.......( more )

After 4 days of tough competition, and yesterday's no-racing day due to strong winds, the 2014 RS:X European Windsurfing Championship & Open Trophy was all about the double-points Medal Race today. The top 10 men's and women's teams were set based on the leaderboard from the 8 races held and today was the final push to make it to the podium. ......( more )

Twenty-five kilometers off the coast of Cairns, in the tropical North of Australia lies a tiny patch of rock jutting out of the Coral Sea. Sized 600 meters x 300 meters, the pier is nearly longer than the island. Google it. A mere speck from space. Space isn't the best way to experience it though, as the conditions at sea level are, well, far more "heavenly" if you're in seeking a perfect winter windsurf environment.......( more )
